6 Signs that you're being Spiritually Abused

Updated: Aug 24, 2020

Recognizing what spiritual abuse is, is the first step to putting an end to it. You can feel hurt by abuse and not even realize that you are encountering an abusive person in your life. As spiritual leaders of God, we are to emulate Him with our lives and how we treat others. Leaders, spiritual parents, family and friends, and also romantic ties can be infected by abusive behavior.

Take a look at the 6 red flags.

Tip:

Allow your heart to be open for healing and deliverance. The Lord knows how you feel and how you were treated. If you've spiritually abused someone, don't worry, you're not condemned. Repent, improve, and heal with the Lord.

The 6 flags:

  1. They're the only person in your life that can hear God. They do not direct you to God and or help you understand how to hear Him. They just want you to come to them. #idolization

  2. They use scripture to manipulate. They condemn you instead of correcting you, directing you, and building you up.

  3. They use a title to seem bigger than you. They are consistently referring to the importance of their anointing.

  4. They preach against you from the pulpit to hurt you. They act like the sermon is led by God but it's led by the spirit they're operating in. It ain't the Holy One.

  5. Curses are spewed out their mouths when someone leaves. They begin to say things like, "They'll fail at everything since they left here from under this covering."

  6. You feel more attacked being connected to them than you feel safe. There is no covering of protection, only a slimy covering.

Why 6?

A purging needs to take place and a tearing down of this spiritual abuse because it's not of God

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. Luke 23:44-45

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. Genesis 7:11

What does one do?

  • First of all, seek God in all that you do. He loves you unconditionally.

  • Sever all ungodly soul, spirit, and body ties with the leader, ministry, church, jezebel spirits etc. Why leave any ungodly tie there?

Say this out loud.

“In Jesus’ name, I break all ungodly soul, spirit, and body ties with ________, and I return to him/her what You want to return and I take back from him/her only what You want me to have cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb.”

  • Forgive-You know that you must forgive to be forgiven. Don't hold grudges precious Beloved. You can let go.

Say this out loud.

“I forgive ________ for ________, which made me feel _________, and I now release him/her to you, Lord Jesus. You are the perfect judge. I repent for holding unforgiveness and I ask that you forgive me. In Jesus’ name. Pray for them because they need deliverance. This is a form of witchcraft and it's not just hurting you. It hurts them and others as well.

  • Seek the Lord again and pray for divine connections, protection, and strength to move on.

  • Watch your step. Use the discernment that God already gave you and don't be captivated by frills and thrills.

  • Start expecting God to bless you after what you've been through and be willing to help someone else.
