When taking a step up, right before your foot lands, you're in a vulnerable position. It's easy to lose balance and a distraction could cause you to slip.
When God is stepping you up, you must be cautious with who and what you allow into that sacred and vulnerable space in between landing.
While your foot had not yet landed:
The air is in between your foot and the step. That air can cause uncertainty and insecurity.
A strong wind could move you in any direction.
Your mind and motion may not be synchronized.
Have you ever thought that your foot was going to land on the step and you're timing was off so you missed it? If so, then you know what I mean. Any hiccup can cause an accident or delay. Protect and guard that precious time of growth.
Everyone cannot have access to your during. Some only need access to your done.
Use discernment to know the difference and understand eligibility status. It could cause you to either miss miserably or land with definition!
God loves to see you succeed!
God wants you to step up into your placement with correct alignment. He wants to increase your territory and region according to your calling and HIS will. I've mentored several people and doing so has allowed me to recognize the danger of comparison. They were sizing themselves up to someone else to determine if they were good enough. The Word of God specifically tells us not to do that.
2 Corinthians 10:12-18
King James Version
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.
For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:
Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,
To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand.
But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
Comparison dishonors God and kills destinies. We see that example in the book of Genesis with Cain and Able. God has developed every individual with a purpose on purpose. If we decide that someone else is better, we're operating in pride by thinking we know what's better for us. Yes, I said it, pride. Another issue is that one cannot master their own gifting and skills if their focus is on what someone else has mastered according to their gifts. God has given several different gifts to humanity along with different measures. That's biblical. Check it out!
Ephesians 4:7-8 (KJV) But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.
We're not meant to be robots or duplicates. He's too intelligent for that. His creativity is not limited in any way. It's great to allow the process of God elevating you as an individual. He knows our destiny, who are we to tell Him about our potential?
Do what Jabez did!
1 Chronicles 4:9-10
And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
